Hi there. I'm one of the founders of Humbot and seriously pissed off at the short-term, profit-maximizing way most tutoring services operate today.
Our goal is to enable low and mid-income parents to be able to afford to help their kids in school. We're super early stage: launched our priced tier 10 days ago and have 7 paying customers.
70% of American households earn less than $75k/year. That means, there is little you can do to help your kids do better at school (short of helping them yourself, but many parents lack either the skills or time). You can't send them to a private school, nor can you afford tutoring lessons. Also, if you are in this income bracket, chances are you don't live in a district with a very good public school. Our goal is to bring down the costs from $99 to $10 in the next years so that almost everyone can afford tutoring services. We believe by building internal tools that automate a lot of the tutoring work for our tutors, we can get there.
Curious to hear what you think.
