The History of Bathing in Soup Broth
- goldenkey 9y agoThere's probably a huge correlation between good parents and parents who would go through the hassle of bathing their child in broth only to have to clean all of it, and the baby (even if the baby simmers for a while.) Not that the soup thing is necessarily good, but it sure shows effort and good will which will probably translate in other ways.
- toblender 9y agoWe have a similar practice in Chinese culture, after a woman gives birth, they must take baths with ginger for a few weeks. My mother in-law actually spent hours cutting up enough ginger for my wife. If you have parents that are willing to go above and beyond for their child, a healthy child is sure to follow.
- ggg9990 9y agoGinger actually has physiological effects though.

Overzealous parents cause harm all the time due to misguided beliefs/efforts, regardless of how genuine and/or time-consuming they may be. https://nypost.com/2017/01/04/sick-boy-died-because-parents-prayed-instead-of-calling-911-prosecutor/ https://nypost.com/2017/01/04/sick-boy-died-because-parents-...
