- pedrosorio 9y agoHaving lived in Portugal for 25 years this comment didn't ring true: https://imgur.com/a/R5PRt https://imgur.com/a/R5PRt If we ignore Portugal (and Iceland which consumes a lot more per capita but is not in the EU), Spain is indeed the top consumer per capita in the European Union, but nowhere near 3x most European countries. Only 50% more than France/Italy and about twice of UK/Belgium/Finland/Denmark/Netherlands.
