I used to upgrade my phone after 3 years, at that point the phone becomes very outdated and it's worth is hardly $100. So it costs me around the same if I buy an inexpensive phone every year, buy an expensive phone and use it for few years, or trade up a new iPhone every year.
- jaxondu 9y agoThis strategy only works for iPhone which has great resale value.
- kayoone 9y agoWorks for Pixel too, but doing this with any of the other android brands would turn out more expensive.
- yorby 9y agodepends when you buy... I sold my last phone for the same amount that I bought it for, a year later (bought it on sale and it was not a Pixel or iPhone)
- swah 9y agoI think it might work with expensive Android phones if you do that every 6 months or even less... (keep the box and phone intact of course).
- make3 9y agothat's a lot of work
- TomMarius 9y agoAnecdote: It takes less than 10 minutes. I call the local iPhone/Mac dealer, we agree on a time, they come, give me money, I give them the device and it's done.
