That's good advice for someone who is on the receiving end of discrimination. Yeah, work harder, don't count on douchebags to stop being douchebags, because in predictable future they will not. Maybe they will become less douchebaggy. Maybe even thanks to you. But that doesn't mean that douchebags are okay, or that people should tolerate them, or not try to stop being douchebags. Or that we should not try to make douchebags feel like douchebags.
