Not a bad idea, but the first writer I checked, Dexter Filkins, doesn't seem to use it. :\ The most reliable method might be to grab RSS feeds from a lot of online magazines like the New Yorker and parse the Author field. But that'd be a lot of manual work since the feeds change format sometimes...
