  But fortunately for what is now 'nieuw zuid' but actually pretty old it always was an integral part of the city. Bijlmer started out geographically isolated without anything else to do there but sleep. Incidentally I grew up in 'de pijp' which is right next door to mr. Berlage's creations so I know the area like my back pocket and went to school there for years.
