This is an argument against mutation, or saying that Haskell doesn't handle mutation better than js, which is absolutely true; mutation is heavily discouraged in pure FP... Monads can be utilized to encapsulate the concept of sequential computation - if that sequential computation happens to be mutations you're gonna have a bad time.
