Situational Proximity - Beside the obvious compatibilities...If you are continually around someone in your youth and hang out, you tend to make long lasting friends. If you are partially and sporadically around someone because of logistics (spouse, work, location) you will not make long lasting bonds at the level you would compared to the first example. The other parts of the discussion are not significant to those points IMO.
