My work recently paid for me to do an R training course - the consultant who delivered the training (via skype) used a Juypter notebook to deliver the entire course. Imagine a power point presentation but with code samples which can execute inside the slide without ever leaving the presentation. I thought it was pretty nifty. I don't know how many programming languages it supports but seems like a good training tool. When I was at university (back in 2003) the lecturer would constantly switch from their powerpoint slides to Emacs in order to demonstrate code this seemed like a more streamlined version of that.
