Ask HN: Experiences with Gumroad for selling software?

I'm looking at using Gumroad (https://gumroad.com/) for charging for a Chrome extension. The positives I'm seeing are: they deal with EU tax for you, they don't charge you for chargebacks, the costs per purchase seem reasonable, the pricing system is flexible (subscriptions, one-off purchases, discount codes) and they have a simple system for sending out license keys and verifying them without the need to create your own server (https://help.gumroad.com/11165-digging-deeper/license-keys). I'm not finding a lot onlin for how people have found working with Gumroad for software licensing though. Does anyone have any stories to share? Would you recommend something else?
