Talk about speculative and poorly researched theories :) You took an anecdote (immigration law happening that year) and spread it so thin. What does "different cultural values" have to do with any of this? If your theory is correct, those immigrants would have just entered the United States... how can they "push women out" because of their culture? They're certainly not the ones (not) hiring them.
