You know that Apple's iOS is proprietary while Google's AOSP is open-source? As others have pointed out: AOSP + F-Droid + DAVdroid is the way to go.

The difference is subtle, but you can't fork your way out of Google's control of the market, unless you have Google-like resources. Big companies have tried and failed. Chrome is now the new IExplorer and its Open Source nature does not matter, quite the contrary, the danger is now less visible than it was with IExplorer, because compared to Microsoft they can use OSS for marketing and they aren't dropping the ball on its development.

Guess who's pushing their own proprietary standard. It is true though, that Chrome is starting to control the browser market which isn't a good thing. Mozilla is the solution here, not Apple. The new "Internet Explorer" is Safari: https://dev.to/nektro/safari-is-the-new-internet-explorer-1df0 https://dev.to/nektro/safari-is-the-new-internet-explorer-1d... Furthermore: You can change the browser (engine) on Android. You can't on iOS.

Actually if you were to look at my comments history, I've always been more critical of Apple. Yes, you can change the browser on Android. In this context I don't care. In my eyes Google has become an enemy of open standards.
