OMG: this guy is 100% right about JIRA. About SLACK; well, it can be used responsibly, if you set ground rules. Honestly, I've never used it within a team, but across teams. So I never had the problems he's describing. I can see how it would be abused that way. But you have the senior leaders set ground rules on usage. (doesn't solve the search problems). Chat is a tool. It can be used responsibly to be helpful, or it can be misused to fuck shit up. Just like any tool.
