College kids sure are taking a beating these days. I don't like the trend ether, but let's be clear that we are talking about a small percentage of students making a lot of noise. And these students, right or wrong, do have a leg to stand on. They attend these schools, the controversial speakers generally do not. They pay tuition to be there, while these speakers do not. These students have some sense of ownership over the institution they attend and it seems natural they would want to defend it from what they perceive as propaganda or hate speech. Where they go wrong, in my humble opinion, is when they seek to ban speakers outright instead of opposing them in other ways. I can't criticize their motivations, only their tactics.
