I don’t understand. The only way to get Windows programs with a GUI on Linux is through a WINE-style reimplementation of Windows libraries, because it was designed to run all linked together on a single machine. Seems like... software is stiff but protocols are good rendezvous points?
- gmueckl 9y agoWell, X11 is supposed to die. People have tried to kill it off for about 15 years now. But no one has managed. Wayland is the most serious effort to create a replacement at the moment and it is being pushed hard. But its design prevents it from running on WSL in any reasonable way.
