I'm very happy with using pelican for my blog: https://startuplab.io/blog https://startuplab.io/blog It's very flexible, written in python, easy to customize, has plugins for any purpose. I've made a custom theme, configured pelican a bit, and served with nginx on digital ocean(but it could as well have been served for free on github pages).
