This also highlights the counter-intuitive fact that being struck by an extremely rare, corner-casey malady isn't necessarily uncommon, simply due to the sheer number of different rare, corner-casey maladies that exist in the long tail of possible things that can happen.
- ianai 9y agoThe lesson is that doctors need to be thorough regardless of how many cases they see. Telling someone they’re not sick or making it up should be grounds to lose their credentials.
- saiya-jin 9y agoNaive view. Most doctors want to really help & cure people, that's why they go into this frankly pretty horrible profession. The sheer amount of work they face, stress, pressures from superiors, constant overtime and bureaucracy will break everybody over time, so it would me and you. These are mainly hospital doctors, don't expect same on some beauty clinic of course, and neither with most GPs. You want change? try to change insurance/laws somehow (I know, easy to say...). You are disappointed with your GP/doctor? Report, spread the word, we have internet.
