This is a foolish thing to say. If you follow your line of reasoning all investment is gambling.

  Without insider knowledge I feel that it is. The odds may be great given financial history but it still is. And so is life in general.

  Not really. My line is reasoning is that crypto has no fundamentals to support it. When you invest in a stock, you have financial metrics: revenue, profit, assets, cash flow, and other business activity... something you can equate to actual monetary value. Most crypto behaves like a penny stock, with the same sort of pump-and-dump schemes, relatively low volumes, and many people trading on hype, hoping to get rich quick. Bitcoin swings wildly for almost any reason, or no reason at all. Yes, you can make money with it, but I wouldn't suggest anyone invest the majority of their cash into it.
