A while ago I wrote a Vim plugin to send Python code to a running interpreter, redefining and debugging on the fly. Unfortunately that’s not a good fit for Python. Code reloading on classes , data descriptors etc requires adhoc semantics. All in all, hard to reason about. I even find Jupyter notebooks get this a bit, when people eval cells out of order..
