This would work great with Firebase too. I remember writing a collaborative document editor similar to Google docs and the "document" was basically JSON with nodes for headlines, paragraphs, etc that multiple users could edit in real time. That time I just used to write the whole JSON to firebase (with flock like locking) and it was really bad but since it was just a weekend project I didn't care much at that time. Bet a library like this could have saved me a lot of headache.
