Ask HN: What programming editor do you use (and why)?
- matchmike1313 9y agoI have been using Atom since it's clean, fast and has some great plugins. Plus I love GitHub as a company.
- bediger4000 9y agoVim. It has most of the features one would like (cross platform, windowing, regular expression-based searching and editing, handles most text formats gracefully) and it's reasonably quick. A bit bloated these last few years, though. Between vi, nvi and vim, it's available everywhere.
- frag 9y agoeven for large projects?
- bediger4000 9y agoYes. Original vi had some problems with "binary files", long lines and large files, but vim does not.
