Happy to not have Lymes but I'm on year 3 of being allergic to meat that comes from hoofed animals (alpha-gal) because of a tick bite. I go out a lot less now but when I do I also use Permethrin.
- mrcoles 9y agoSorry to hear—my sister is in the same boat with alpha-gal from a lone star tick. It seems that very few people are aware of it.
- owenversteeg 9y agoWow, I've heard about meat allergies from ticks but I didn't realize they were common enough for 2 people on HN to have them. Permethrin really is amazing, isn't it?
