It was much more recent than that. Content Aware Fill was introduced in Photoshop CS5 which was released in 2010. Perhaps you were thinking of the Spot Healing

It was much more recent than that. Content Aware Fill was introduced in Photoshop CS5 which was released in 2010. Perhaps you were thinking of the Spot Healing Brush of Photoshop which is somewhat similar but much more manual and limited.
- justinator 9y agoI distinctly remember the tech being demo'd in 1999-2000. Huge amounts of "wow's" being echo'd in the auditorium. This was around when PS 4.5/5 was out. I guess it was a feature to be slated for PS 6?
