  Yes, and largely for the arguments that he concedes. The fact that a substantial fraction of news is gossip and speculation just means that not everything on a news outlet is news. In the same way that not everything done by scientist is science or everything done by an artist is art.

    Everything published by a scientist in a paper should be science. Everything presented by an artist in an exposition should be art. Everything published in a newspaper (and presented as news) should be news. I am much more inclined to consider news a form of entertainment nowadays. And I am not even talking about fake news.
