It’s not a race to the bottom. People who provide services using apps like Uber, AirBnB etc could have chose other ways to sell their services. They choose those apps because they offered the best balance of compensation and flexibility. If holier-than-thou types try to ban these apps based on their own worldview, millions will suffer the loss of their first choice and be forced to accept their second choice - or unemployment.
