You're missing out on lots of features like easily managing many entry points, live reload / hot reload, code splitting, async chunk loading, tree shaking, proper namespacing, transpilers so you can write ES8 but support IE, and tons of other great features.
- megous 9y agoI only miss not being able to use some ES6 features, because of IE11 requirement. We can use closure compiler to get ES6 syntax support at this point, because browsers usable for development support ES6+, so it wouldn't need to be run during development, only for deploy. Webpack is not necessary for that though. Live reload with ExtJS app would be a nightmare even with webpack. On-demand code loading optimizations are not necessary. Tree shaking would not help much at this point, because I've removed unused components manually. Proper namespacing (if you mean ES6 imports) would not help much. The app is self-contained and uses only a few external dependencies.
