My children loved to invoke googol, like most children it seems. "I want to eat googol cookies!" But I always sternly warned them it was a big number—most of their invocations pretty much entail the observable universe immediately collapsing into a black hole. Then of course they caught wind of googolplex, which is just nuts, and I keep telling them "that's nuts!" Now they're onto Graham's number, and I've run out of tools to convey how insane it is. I'm relegated to saying things like "Remember googolplex? Well that's peanuts compared to Graham's number." I don't think I'm getting through to them.
