The Fields Medal should return to its roots
- jonnybgood 9y agoAbsolutely. The idea of having an age limit on what's considered the most prestigious prize for ANY field is ridiculous, especially for fields like math where patience and persistence is a requirement.
- fjsolwmv 9y ago20 years since high is a good long time to demonstrate potential. The prize is funding for future work, not a prize for having finished a successful career > Fields medallists are at an age at which, in most sciences, a promising career would just be taking off. That's the point.
