Personal two cents: the actual maximally "fair" and maximally safe strategy is not to release anyone on bail. True positives are 100%, and false negatives are 0%. Beyond that, I agree with nabla9: > I think unconstrained algorithm in criminal cases is ethically wrong. Justice should be individualized or it's not justice.
