My friend who works in Apple Hardware had a competing offer from Nvidia. They both offered the same pay and an expectation that you will work nights and weekends, but apparently a followup team lunch at Nvidia didn't go well and he took the offer at Apple. I don't know what the dollar amount was, I didn't ask, but I think it's fair to say that Nvidia is at least interested in paying whatever the market rate for EE is.
