Silicon Valley is more like the Gilded Age capitalists than they tell themselves.

- smnrchrds 9y agoSilicon Valley is commonly used as a figure of speech to refer to the entire tech industry. Similar to how Wall Street is used to refer to the financial industry, or Hollywood to the movie industry, or Washington to the entire federal government.

- bb88 9y agoAmazon employs people in SF too, so it's not entirely possible they didn't drink the kool-aid.
