A few days ago I compiled sel4 on riscv without muslc and it was around 700K of quite readable elf code, able to run via spike bbl. I can imagine a service built on rust + rump kernel on an amazon fpga instance a platform inline with your original thinking of being secure and having full control.
Have you thought of any way to easily boot on FPGA based instances a run from ram sel4 kernel + riscv and run the rump kernels there?
- andrewstuart 9y agoActually I stopped working with the Rump kernel fairly early in the project. The main activity around unikernels now seems to be with Solo5 https://github.com/Solo5/solo5 https://github.com/Solo5/solo5 I don't know much about FPGAs but I might have a look...
