Do offers/deals really have a place on HN?
- michaelfairley 16y agoI feel like anything that's applicable to hackers/startups belongs here. I think most people were quite excited when the O'Reilly $9.99 sale was posted here a few months back.
- bravura 16y agoI fail to see what is the difference between this offer, and a press release by a large company about a new useful paid service they are offering. Would you protest the latter being on hacker news?
- jeffclark 16y agoThis is stuff the startup and hacker community could find useful. Exactly like the O'Reilly $9.99 deal mentioned above.
- icey 16y agoThese are all really highly regarded services for startups, it seems like HN would be the perfect place to post about this deal.
- AndrewWarner 16y agoI would usually agree with you and hit the "flag" link, but having paid full price for a few of these apps, I think it's such a surprising deal that it's worth talking about. (Full disclosure, I'm a friend of Noah's.)
- bbalfour 16y agoAgreed. Tons of scrappy startups on here that could use a deal like this on tools that could help them with company. If it was some random groupon deal for a new restaurant in SF, thats a different story.
