Strong ownership laws are a fundamental requirement of a State that is deemed worthy of investment. Why would anyone bother if the government could just take all your shit without compensation.
- beat 9y agoEminent domain doesn't happen without compensation. It's done at fair market value, almost always settled by the courts, that don't have a political interest in the outcome. It doesn't mean take your land without compensation. It means take your land whether you like it or not, for fair market compensation.
