I'm not quite sure that doctors need AI to see the state of a terminally ill patient for what it is, but if the authority of a mystical-sounding blackbox helps them accept and act on that tough reality, that's fine by me.

There is a movie called Idiocracy which has some version of this. Pretty hilarious.
