Great to see a come back to old values some of us been taught before the NoSQL trends have gained strength. One can only hope Google contributes some of their strong consistency mechanisms to open source so that more developers can be swayed towards strong consistency-based architectures. Spanner is great but creates huge vendor lock-in and some businesses will not repeat old mistakes.
