After apartment hunting for months last year, I came to the conclusion that... a lot of the new apartments being built are tragically boring. Many units are alike -- cave-like, and give the impression that construction was rushed while passing off the design as "urban". So I found "fancier" places alluring, but in reality they are just apartments with a bit more than the bare minimum design. I sometimes wonder if there is a business scheme behind this contrast but I try not to feed into my paranoia.
