You can use it to quickly look up time / temperature settings. It's not really a "hack" but getting a Sous-vide machine has probably been the biggest game changer for me. Being able to "perfectly" cook steaks/seafood at home with great ease is fantastic. Probably saved me hundreds of £££ over the past few years as I eat out a lot less now.
