Part of this stupid trend that your coworkers also need to be your friends and family. "Since I wouldn't tolerate political dissent at home, I don't tolerate it at work" kind of thinking. Probably also part of a greater trend towards Corporate Nationalism in the US. What happened to just showing up, doing the work, then going home?
