This is one of the problems with the Silicon Valley echo-chamber effect. Everyone things that they deserve (must!) hire the "rockstars" who hack 24/7. I'd rather hire someone who doesn't spend all of their spare time programming because they're going to be more rested and fresh when it comes to their work programming. Spending time with family, outdoor activities, cultural events, hell even reading and not being in front of a computer are all vital to the brain.
