- pizlonator 9y agoMy understanding is the hat they are only patching the indirect branch issue, so you’re still vulnerable to Spectre if you install the patches. They aren’t patching the (not indirect) conditional branch issue. That requires software changes or disabling speculative execution (which would have catastrophic perf cost).
