I would be interested to know how only children fall into this analysis. If the oldest child has more intellectual curiosity because they received more attention, you'd expect only children to have received even more attention still.
- andrewclunn 9y agoOr if it's the semi parental role the eldest often take regarding younger siblings
- erfgh 9y agoYeah but then you have nobody to compare with.
- theptip 9y agoThe average of the population? (In this case, the average SSC reader.) If you have a big enough sample, you can ask if the average only child scores higher "Openness" than the average reader, or if their self-reported IQ is higher. That's a meaningful comparison I believe.
