"fall in line" is exactly what HN is about. Someone once quoted an old article that used the word "oriental" to describe Asian people, and someone on HN said that was highly offensive. I replied and said based on multiple conversations I've had with Asian friends I don't think it's an offensive term.
Well it turns out Scott the HN mod ultraliberal from San Fransisco thought that was reason enough to shadowban me forever on HN. That's the game here -- agree with Silicon Valley/San Francisco liberal politics or be banned.
- dang 9y agoYou weren't shadowbanned: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12703655 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=12703655. That was after many violations of the site rules and several warnings. > agree with [...] liberal politics or be banned https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13110004 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=13110004
- jrcii 9y agoApparently "many" means 2 instances of nonsense where I did nothing wrong. ZERO WARNINGS -- that is a flat-out lie. You're a little microcosm of Mark Zuckerburg Supreme Brother Leader telling everyone at facebook that they had to agree with his liberal wacky politics or else. I bet I know who you voted for in the last election "dang." You have your little Liberal Club here on HN, and fellow Liberal Club members are permitted -- encouraged! -- to spout and rant as much liberal ideology as they want until they're blue in the face. If you dare to disagree with and speak out against that nonsense with equal weight, "You're violating our guidelines! We gave you repeated warnings!!" Fascism is regarded as a far-right ideology but no one imitates their style of governance better than so-called liberals.
