Apple to bring back $200B in overseas cash to the USA says analyst
- gk1 9y agoTitle is misleading.[0] This is a prediction from an analyst, and not a statement by Apple. [0] "Apple to bring back $200B in overseas cash to the US"
- joering2 9y agoThanx, fixed now.
- blinkingled 9y agoStill seeing the same original title btw.
- joering2 9y agoI edited it down to $200 B.
- kencausey 9y agoI don't think the number is the issue. This title reads as definitive implying a direct official statement from Apple while instead this is a statement from someone who appears to have no affiliation with Apple as far as I can tell from the article.
- londons_explore 9y agoTitle should be: "Apple to bring back $200B in overseas cash to the USA says analyst"
- londons_explore 9y agoAn occasional "tax holiday", with the ability to keep profits overseas until the next tax holiday isn't so different from just being a tax haven. Even more so considering you can issue bonds against that overseas capital and your investors can see it on the balance sheet.
- votepaunchy 9y agoForeign profits are taxed immediately so there is less reason to hoard cash “overseas”.
