- everdev 9y agoCool project! I've thought about this before and ended up making throw away accounts. I really like this approach though.
- analogj 9y agoThanks!
- napsterbr 9y agoFeedback: not sure what your site is doing, but it appears to have an overlay over the content and it takes several seconds to load. Granted, I have a terrible connection, but I could not read the site (which was loaded) due to a blank layer on top of it.
- analogj 9y agoweird. What browser are you using?
- napsterbr 9y agoAh, figured it out. It's due to a really bad connection. There's a spinner with white background. The underlying page loads (I can see parts of it if quickly scrolling), but the spinner div won't go away. Minor issue that wouldn't affect most of your visitors. Print: https://imgur.com/UqSUUTA https://imgur.com/UqSUUTA On a faster connection it worked fine. Not sure what this spinner is (can't debug on mobile). Ordinarily I wouldn't bother much making my service accessible for those with extremely crappy connection, but given your service might be used by people on 3rd world countries, behind proxies and so on, it might be a good idea to simulate slow connections on your landing page :) Maybe adding a "close" button would solve
- SaltyBackendGuy 9y agowebsite looks great on my machine. Firefox v50, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
- zanedb 9y agoOut of curiosity, why only v50?
- Fnoord 9y agoUbuntu 16.04 LTS stands for Long Term Support, so it stays supported longer than non-LTS versions. Software can be out of date, but its rock solid. Instead of updating software (like on Windows and macOS) they backport security & reliability fixes from upstream. Some people also don't wanna run 57 (yet) because their favourite extension(s) aren't ported from <= 56 yet. So they stay on older versions. Current ESR (Extended Release, akin to LTS) is 52.
- sincerely 9y agoHey there's a typo on the website: "Bitcoin is fairly mainstream now, but it's inventor is still a mystery." should be "its inventor"
- analogj 9y agothanks, fixed.
- Cyberdog 9y agoPlease stop overriding my browser's/OS's scrolling behavior. I know best how I want to view your content. Thank you. Also, the H in GitHub is capitalized.
- analogj 9y agofixed the capitalization. I'll have to figure out whats locking up the scrollbar in the CSS though.
- Sir_Substance 9y agoSweet project, thanks for making it :D
- analogj 9y ago:) Thanks!
