There are many forms of socialism, quite different from each other. You're likely referring to the Soviet model with state ownership, but the welfare state example is pretty much the Nordic model and social democracy.
- merpnderp 9y agoI'm referring to Socialism as it's author intended. Precise language is a feature not a bug, and helps cut down on misunderstandings and needless confusion/arguments. Calling a free market welfare state, socialist, is like saying 'literally' when you literally meant 'figuratively'. Without vocal cues or meaningful context, you'll be misunderstood.
