  Patent lawyers who filed that patent would probably laugh at you for talking about kitchen utensils in respect to such an awesome patent idea ;-)

    On the subject of kitchen utensils... One of my favorite patents is for the OXO angled measuring cup[1]. It seems obvious now in hindsight, but was truly unique when it appeared on the market. The uniqueness comes from seeing the volume from both the top and the side otherwise the patent would probably not have been granted.
