Because most people don't know what any of this means. To nearly everyone else it sounds like Intel was hacked. But so what? Nearly every company has been hacked in the last three years, so it just doesn't seem like such a big deal. Obviously this is completely wrong but it's how the general public and walstreet will interpret it.
