I think people were willing to ignore the exploitation of workers and human rights abuses when Dubai was still a money train. Now that it has crashed outrage can be expressed without financial impact.
- zalew 16y agoThat's not exactly true. BBC's 'Dubai Dreams' is sth like 2005/2006 and one episode includes slave labour.
- whakojacko 16y agoIts maybe not entirely true, but still generally the case IMO. You really didnt start seeing the mass of articles critical of Dubai until mid-2008 or so.
